Since 1998, Cecal has manufactured Cathodes for Zinc electrolysis. Cecal has always seeked improvements with the aim of improving the durability and minimizing periodic maintenance.
The improvements made by Cecal cathodes have made them a reference specially for their great corrosion and stripping resistance.
The low electric resistance and the durability of the bimetallic contacts, in Cu/Al, are other qualities that excel Cecal cathodes.
Cathode – Components of the assembly:
1) Cathode Sheet
2) Header Bar
3) Hook
4) Copper Contact
5) Coating
6) Stripping Aid
7) Edge Sticks
Quality assurance systems are aligned to the stringent demands of technologically advanced customer segments such as the zinc and nickel industries.
The Cathode Sheet
The cathode sheet is made from top quality, high purity aluminum alloy 1050, 1070 or 1200.
Special alloys and / or sizes can be supplied according to the customer requirements.
Cathode copper contact and Header Bar
The cathode header is made of a bar of extruded aluminum alloy 6101-T6 or equivalent with a copper contact welded at is extremity.
Coating
The chemical composition of the coating is of special importance as far as the guarantee of customer process stability.
The header bar and the cathode sheet until the overflow line shall be protected from the corrosive effects by treatment of the 1-1.5 mm coating.
Types of applications:
Uncoated
Total coating
Partial coating (Hooks, partial header bar, cathode sheet and disks).
Partial coating (Hooks, partial header bar, cathode sheet).
Other types may be developed as customer’s need.
Stripping Aid
Customized solutions, developed to meet individual requirements.
We can create a customized disk to suit your needs.
CECAL developed over the years an efficient anchorage process for the coating in the area of the countersinking (disk), ensuring durability of the cathode sheet in the stripping aid.
Edge Stick
The side sticks are made of extruded ABS edge, with high strength and no deformation.
The special glue application process developed by Cecal has already been proven over many years.
In this way each cathode is protected from mechanical and process damage during the processing and deposition cycles.
